James Clooney began his career in 1981 as a Junior Auditor at Arthur Young, where he distinguished himself among his peers as “best trainee.” From there, he transitioned to a role as Senior Auditor at Touche Ross in New York City. Mr. Clooney then went to work for Prudential Securities’ brokerage office in Smithtown, New York, as an Account Executive. He again exceeded expectations and became the second-ranked trainee in the country.
James Clooney went on to serve as Assistant Vice President at Lehman Brothers, Assistant Vice President at UBS, and Vice President at Salomon Smith Barney before assuming the role of President at Biltmore Mortgage, a retail mortgage bank in Melville, New York. Under his leadership, Biltmore Mortgage stood out as the fastest growing brokerage in the area, which was home to a number of distinguished brokerage houses.
James Clooney then took over as Principal and Managing Director at CVO/JEC Consulting Corp., a position he held for 14 years. He led the company to become the Northeast’s fastest growing online mortgage bank for six years running. During his later years at CVO/JEC, Mr. Clooney also served as Principal and Managing Director at Refinance.com.
